Hello

I'm a composer, performer, researcher, and educator, based in the North of England. 

My work takes me from contemporary composition to jazz performance, with a lot in between. If you have questions - please get in touch!

Bio

Cameron McArthur (b. 1997) is a composer and multi-instrumentalist from the North-East of England.

His recent work focuses upon the idea of momentum as a tool within composition, as well as ideas around perception, implication, and expectation. He is a currently exploring these topics as part of a PhD at the University of York, under the tutelage of Thomas Simaku and Martin Suckling. 

Recent performances of his music have been hosted by Metz Arsenal, Convergence @ DMU, Twisted Spruce Foundation, Sound Thought Festival, and The Arc Project. Current and past collaborators include Psappha, Ensemble Intercontemporain, Diotima Quartet, Ligeti Quartet, Terra Invisus, and more.

An active musician, Cameron is also regularly engaged as a performer and music director, working with a wide variety of musicians across North Yorkshire and beyond.
